However, a recent case study of a white woman indicated that her excessively high blood level of vitamin D (hypervitaminosis D) was caused by tanning bed use three to four times a week. When she ceased using the tanning bed, her blood level of vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D) returned to a normal level within a month.
